Iron Infusion Therapy
$300 infusion fee (drug cost separate, see below)
For iron deficiency anemia when oral supplements aren't working or aren't well tolerated. Especially helpful for patients with chronic conditions, pregnancy, or malabsorption.
What's Included in the $300 Fee
The $300 covers the infusion itself: a 75-minute session with our clinical team administering the medication in a 1:1 environment.
About the Medication Cost
The IV iron medication is billed separately from the infusion fee. Our pharmacist coordinates the drug order and works with your insurance. Most private drug plans cover the medication.

How to Access IV Iron at Care&
There are three pathways depending on how you access primary care.
Option 1: Care& Family Practice Members (Best Value)
Family Practice membership ($450/year + HST) includes unlimited consults and on-site lab appointments. Your full IV iron workup, prescription, and follow-up are included in your membership.
You only pay the $300 infusion fee plus medication cost.
- Workup, bloodwork, prescription, and follow-up: included
- Infusion: $300 + medication cost
Option 2: Pay-Per-Visit (No Family Provider)
If you don't have a family provider and aren't a Care& member, our NPs can work you up start to finish on a pay-per-visit basis.
Standard pathway:
- Initial consult ($100 pay-per-visit) for assessment and lab requisition
- Bloodwork at an external lab
- Second consult ($100 pay-per-visit) to review results, prescribe the iron, and arrange follow-up bloodwork
- Infusion ($300 + medication cost)
Faster pathway (if you already have recent bloodwork):
- One consult ($100 pay-per-visit) to review results and prescribe
- Infusion ($300 + medication cost)
Option 3: Your Family Provider Manages Care
If your family provider is taking responsibility for diagnosing, ordering the medication, and managing your follow-up, they can refer you directly for the infusion.
The pathway:
- Your family provider completes the Care& IV Iron Order Sheet and faxes it to Care&
- You book your infusion appointment ($300 + medication cost)
For referring providers: submit the Care& IV Iron Order Sheet through our referral portal.
