Is Care& covered by OHIP?
No. Care& is a private membership clinic. Our services are not covered by OHIP. Membership is $450 + HST per year and includes unlimited visits, on-site lab, and access to our health app.
How is Care& different from a walk-in clinic?
Walk-in clinics rotate providers every visit. At Care&, you see the same Nurse Practitioner every time. You also get unlimited visits, on-site lab work, a health records app, and phone or video appointments included in your membership.
What can a Nurse Practitioner do vs a doctor?
Nurse Practitioners independently diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, order lab tests and imaging, and refer to specialists. For family practice, the care is equivalent to a family doctor for the vast majority of health needs.
Is $450/year worth it?
If you visit five or more times a year, membership costs less per visit than pay-per-visit at $100/visit. Members also get unlimited phone and video appointments, on-site lab, and one-click prescription refills at no extra charge.
Can I keep my family doctor and also use Care&?
Yes. Many members use Care& alongside their existing family doctor for faster access. There is no conflict. You can use Care& for same-week appointments, lab work, prescription refills, and virtual check-ins while keeping your OHIP doctor for anything else.
