Our Commitment
Care& Family Health is committed to providing accessible healthcare services to all patients, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
We believe that every person deserves equal access to quality healthcare. Our goal is to ensure that our clinics, digital platforms, and communication methods are accessible and welcoming to everyone.
Accessible Customer Service
We are committed to providing goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We welcome feedback on how we can improve accessibility at our clinics.
- We communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability.
- We welcome the use of assistive devices, service animals, and support persons at our clinic locations.
- We notify patients when accessible facilities or services are temporarily unavailable.
- Our staff receive training on serving patients with disabilities.
Our Clinic Locations
Yorkville
162 Cumberland St, Suite 200, Toronto, ON M5R 3N5. The building is wheelchair accessible with elevator access to our second-floor clinic. Accessible washroom facilities are available on site.
Lawrence Park
3080 Yonge St, Suite 6010, Toronto, ON M4N 3N1. The building is wheelchair accessible with elevator access. Accessible washroom facilities are available on site.
Digital Accessibility
We are working to ensure our website and patient portal meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. This includes providing:
- Keyboard navigation support throughout our website
- Text alternatives for images and non-text content
- Sufficient colour contrast for readability
- Consistent, predictable navigation
- Compatibility with screen readers and assistive technologies
- Mobile-responsive design for all screen sizes
Alternative Formats
If you require information in an alternative format, we will work with you to provide it in a way that meets your needs. This may include large print, plain language summaries, or other accessible formats.
