Privacy & PHIPA Compliance

Your health information is protected

All virtual appointments at Care& are conducted through our PHIPA-compliant telehealth platform. PHIPA is Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act, and it sets the standard for how your health data is collected, used, and stored.

Your virtual visit is encrypted end-to-end. No one can access the video or audio feed except you and your NP. We don't record appointments. Your health records from virtual visits are stored in the same secure patient portal as your in-person records, so everything stays in one place.

We never share your health information with third parties without your explicit consent. Not your employer, not your insurance company, not anyone. Your privacy is not just a policy for us. It's the law.

What You Need for a Virtual Visit

Virtual visits work on any device with a camera and internet connection. A smartphone, tablet, or computer will work. You don't need to download any software. The visit runs through your browser or our patient portal.

For video visits, find a quiet, well-lit space where you can talk privately. If you're discussing a skin concern or physical symptom, good lighting helps your NP see what's going on.

Phone-only visits are also available. If you don't have video access or just prefer a phone call, that's fine. Your NP will call you at the scheduled time.
