How Apretude Works
The treatment involves an initial phase of two injections one month apart, followed by a maintenance phase where injections are given every two months. Before starting Apretude, it is essential that patients have a confirmed negative HIV-1 status, and regular testing will be part of the follow-up process .
Apretude offers a 7-day grace period around the scheduled injection dates to ensure flexibility while maintaining protection. If a dose is missed by more than seven days, an alternative plan, such as oral PrEP, may be provided temporarily until injections can resume .
